D.O. Allen Homes Inspires Real Estate Developers In Japanese Sister City
October 19, 2007
A real estate group from Japan will visit the City of Richmond next weekend to tour area projects that are representative of traditional Richmond style and design. Among the selected projects, the group will tour D.O. Allen’s luxury maintenance provided neighborhood Martin's Grant at Old Gun. Martin’s Grant was recommended to the group by the Home Builders Association of Richmond because of its high-quality of planning and the beauty of its community.
The visiting group consists of 8 persons from the Chuo Green Development Co. of Saitama, Japan, where they plan to develop a single-family home community of approximately 100 homes. The design theme aims to pay tribute to the historical architectural features and streetscapes of Richmond, which has been Saitama’s sister city since 1994. This relationship was formed in order to expand the global view of citizens and to deepen mutual understanding and friendship. Saitama City has formed sister/friendship city relationships with a total of six cities overseas and holds international exchange events in a variety of areas such as sports, culture, and education.
Chuo Green Development also wishes to make the planned community environmentally sustainable with green building concepts as well as making it a pedestrian friendly community.
D.O. Allen Homes will meet the group at the clubhouse of the Martin’s Grant at Old Gun project site at 9:30AM on Saturday, October 27th, 2007. Media is welcome to attend for an informal opportunity to ask questions of the group. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
Located within the City of Richmond, Martin’s Grant at Old Gun provides a clear picture of a successfully planned community that embraces it’s historical property value and exhibits architectural designs and a community appearance that blends seamlessly with the area and traditional Richmond style. Of the 42 homesites, only one remains available for purchase.
Given today’s recent demand for lifestyle-centered communities, D.O. Allen Homes currently offers maintenance-provided communities The Terraces at Swift Creek, Martin’s Grant at Old Gun, Church Road Commons and Creekside Village in the Richmond area, and Legacy Oaks and Heritage at Wyndhurst in Lynchburg, Virginia. Formed by native Virginian Donald Allen in 1978, the company has earned a reputation for quality construction throughout the state.
